Securing websites can be daunting, especially if you don’t have a background in web security. From configuring headers to monitoring web traffic anomalies, staying on top of priorities can feel overwhelming. The Security Agent (public preview) in Power Pages simplifies this process by offering AI-driven recommendations, automated scans, and real-time monitoring. Integrated into the Power Pages design studio, it helps take steps to secure your sites through built-in intelligence and guided workflows, whether you’re new to web security or looking to strengthen your site’s security posture.
What’s Included in Public Preview
The Security Agent helps makers improve their site’s security through two core capabilities: automated security scanning and live traffic monitoring. Every two weeks, the agent runs automated scans and checks your site against 37 industry-standard rules (OWASP based) to identify common issues like missing security headers, exposed information, or cross-site scripting risks. For each issue, it provides clear, step-by-step guidance so makers can take confident action to resolve them.
Beyond scanning, the agent also keeps a close eye on live traffic. Using Microsoft Sentinel signals and historical usage patterns, it identifies unusual spikes, suspicious access behavior, or bot activity. If something looks off, the agent sends alerts along with helpful context and suggested next steps.
You can choose which features to enable based on your site’s needs. All alerts and findings are displayed in one centralized view, making it easy to track what has been addressed and what still needs attention. Notifications are customizable and can be delivered directly in the Power Pages Studio, by email, or through Microsoft Teams.
Making Security a Built-In Part of Building
Power Pages is committed to making advanced security accessible to all makers. With the Security Agent, you no longer need to search for issues. They appear as you build, along with practical fixes you can apply immediately. This experience is available in public preview today, and this is just the beginning. More categories and intelligent recommendations will be added soon.
