Build and Extend Agents Directly from Power Pages Studio (Preview)

We are excited to announce new capabilities in Power Pages that allow makers to create AI agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio directly from Power Pages Studio using a selected form, customize directly in Copilot Studio and use in a Power Pages site, and use a refreshed chat widget for site users to interact with multiple agents. This streamlines the process of building agents that can interact with Dataverse securely based on the configured authentication and authorization model in Power Pages.

Create Agents from Power Pages Studio

Makers can now select a form in Power Pages and generate a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent. The agent will be automatically wired to perform Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations on data honoring Power Pages authorization model.

Additionally, makers can enable file upload support during agent setup. When enabled, the agent can extract data from uploaded document (such as PDFs or images) to pre-fill or create records, significantly reducing manual data entry for end users. Learn how to build an agent from a form

Extend Agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio

Want to go beyond the default experience? Once an agent is created, it can be customized in Microsoft Copilot Studio. You can edit instructions, and add additional topics, flows, and logic to extend the default behavior.

Flexible Authentication Options

This release also brings the following enhancements to agent security:

Token-based authentication: Makers can configure token pass through, enabling secure communication between Power Pages and the agent.

Support for all authentication options in Power Pages: The agent honors the authentication configuration that is already set in Power Pages, making integration seamless and secure.

Refreshed Agent Chat Widget

The agent chat widget has been refreshed, offering a more modern and intuitive experience for site users. This update ensures a clean, responsive, and accessible interface when interacting with the agent. It also allows users to switch between multiple agents configured on the site.
